Khandoba Biorefineries PVT LTD has been a part of our family since 2001. The plant is located in the heart of the sugar belt, at Karad District, in the State of Maharashtra. They plan to enhance till a 60 KLPD ENA/EQ-RS plant and 60 KLPD Ethanol Plant. The factory is located in Western Maharashtra, which is a sugar belt area, so there is no shortage of raw sugar.

Within the 200 Km radius of our distillery, there are a number of sugar factories, which shows a massive availability of molasses. The predominant role is to produce & sell Rectified Spirit (R.S.), Special denatured Spirit (S.D.S.) and Ethanol from molasses. In the future, the company plans to manufacture value added products like Extra Neutral Alcohol (ENA), Bio-CNG, Furnace Oil and Peptone.

Rectified Spirit is used for potable i.e. Country Liquor & S.D.S. is used for industrial use. i.e. pharmaceuticals, the paint and perfume industry, other industrial uses and many more. Chart of Industries using RS & SDS. However, Ethanol is used as a fuel for blending in the petrol. Currently 10 % Ethanol is blended in petrol by all Oil companies like – IOCL, BPCL, HPCL. To summarise, there is huge demand for Ethanol and nobody can fulfil this requirement across the country. In the State of Maharashtra, 2.5 % ethanol blending was achieved by Oil Companies instead of 10 % because of a short supply of Ethanol. In conclusion, the demand for Ethanol in Maharashtra is marginally high.
